Professional Information

I will assist in presenting you with well researched information on a variety of topics.

As a Doula, I  Do Not:

At this time I am not taking new doula clients. I highly recommend reaching out to Ravae Sinclair for your birthing needs at Birth Connections

Go Back

During labor

In early labor I will be available to you via text and phone support. As labor picks up I will join you at your chosen location, be it home or your birthing locale. I will provide continuous support throughout your active labor period until, and beyond, the arrival of your baby(ies).

I do not charge extra for longer labors as I do not offer discounts for shorter labors. Babies come when they come and I do not want a family to feel pressured by a clock.

Baby’s first feeding Support

I stay with a new family until everyone has eaten. That means birthing individual, partner and baby. If you are breastfeeding I will assist with that first latch and getting you comfortable. If you are bottle feeding I will make sure you have everything you need and understand the preparation.

Postpartum follow-up visit

Within the first few weeks of birth I will visit you in your home for a postpartum visit. We will review and process your birth and answer any questions you may have. Here I will also check in to see how you are healing, if baby is feeding as well as review any other questions the new family may have.

Placenta Encapsulation

I provide both in home and off site placenta encapsulation services. Click here for further information and pricing details.

Perform any clinical tasks

Clinical tasks are best left to your medical providers; they have all the necessary training and expertise to know when to perform them and how to interpret the results. Cervical checks, blood pressure, fetal and maternal heart rate are all examples of procedures out of a doulas scope of practice.

Make decisions for you

I'm am here to help you and your family through the birthing process. I will provide you with unbiased, up to date, evidence based reading materials to assist in answering questions you may have but the final decision must be yours.

Speak to the staff on your behalf

I love to be part of a team and that team includes not only you but your medical providers as well. All medical decisions should be between you, your partner and your provider. I will assist you every step of the way but I will not speak for you. This birth is about you and your voice needs to be the one heard, not mine.

Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience

I have given birth; 3 times in fact. Each one was completely different and unique and they were perfect for those situations. I would never begin to think any one way is the only way to give birth. I will fully support you and your birth preferences however they unfold throughout the process.
